Now, with the new administration, more change is happening. With all this change, we’ve seen continual consolidation, mergers, layoffs, and more uncertainty over the last 8 years. This has caused tremendous turnover within our industry with very few believing they’ll stay with the same company for 15, 20, 25 or 30 years. How was the idea born? If you work in our industry long enough, you will see constant and sometimes very rapid change. You will experience layoffs, reorganizations, downsizing, and company split-ups, mergers, and buyouts. It is an amazingly rewarding and lucrative industry that we’ve broken into, but it can sometimes be scary. We see many great people lose their jobs overnight and many of us have experienced these times ourselves. Large companies often make decision based not on performance, but because of large consulting firms hired to make scientific alignment decisions designed to avoid lawsuits. We came to the realization that a partner and support community would be helpful to provide options while looking for jobs and to help plan for the futures.
